Project Description

This building is close to a Grade 2 Listed Building and the inspiration came from the beautiful shape of 3 no. clay pantiles from the listed building and the way they interlock and their gentle curvature. These shapes seemingly “float” above a glass line throughout the building, which is then reinforced by a solid mass combination of stone gabion wall and larch cladding. The building is partly cut into the slope of the land so that when viewed back from the listed building, the observer simply sees only grass due to the angle of the pantiles and the use of a sedum grass roof.
